Design
and installation of a 500 foot deep anode cathodic protection system
for the Metropolitan Sanitary District.
-
Design,
furnish and install cathodic protection systems at service stations in
the states of Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri and
Wisconsin. This includes installing anodes to depths of 20
feet to 100 feet, installing permanent reference cells, rectifiers,
negative connections, trenching and directional boring cables,
verifying electrical continuity and the commissioning of the systems.
-
Design,
furnish and and install 25 deep anode cathodic protection systems at
nuclear and fossil power plants.
-
Installation
of deep anode cathodic protection systems for the U.S. Air Force at missile
silos located throughout the Midwest.
-
Design,
furnish and install cathodic protection systems on concentric neutral
wires at locations throughout the Midwest.
-
Developed
and patented products that are approved by the US EPA for monitoring
underground storage tank cathodic protection systems.
-
Developed
and co-patented a product for attaching sacrificial anodes and
cathodic protection test leads to underground concentric neutrals.
-
Developed
a cathodic protection system for a manufacturer of packaged lift
stations that can be assembled in concert with the lift station and
does not require any field support by a corrosion specialist.
-
Furnishing
and installing conventional and deep anode systems for pipeline
companies in Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois and North Dakota.
This work also includes conducting continuity tests, locating,
excavating and bonding discontinuities, installing supplemental
sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems and testing for system
effectiveness.
-
Electrical
corrosion surveys on water and wastewater pipelines including IR drop
and close interval surveys, cathodic protection testing, continuity
testing, flange isolation, effectiveness inspection, stray current
testing and stray current mitigation, induced AC
investigations and mitigation recommendations. Installation of
sacrificial anodes, test stations and permanent reference cells,
electrical cell surveys on continuity bonds of pre-stressed concrete
cylinder pipe, ductile iron pipe and coated steel pipe 48"
through 98" located in the Chicago Metropolitan area. The
project included a complete investigation to evaluate the corrosive
conditions and the impact of the environment on over 100 miles of
pipe.
-
Establishing
departments to collect corrosion control data and gas leak surveys on
residential and commercial gas services and associated mains.
This included finding, identifying and recommending repairs and
upgrades to meet DOT requirements.
-
Design
and installation of stray current mitigation devices on transmission
and distribution lines, aboveground and underground storage tanks,
steel lift stations and reinforcing steel.
-
Stray
DC current interference study for 72" diameter water transmission
system influenced by a DC powered transit system, followed by a design
system for mitigation.
-
Induced
AC voltage study for 48" diameter water transmission system
influenced by a DC powered transit system followed by a design system
for mitigation.
